be positive.
optimism.
one of the most difficult things about being a human is staying positive when the reality tends to be the opposite.
replacing negative thoughts with positive ones, trying to stay hopeful, and believing things will go right is usually hard, because reality tends to overcloud that.
i just realised lately, that I utter negative words more than positive words. mostly because the reality of things often happens to be negative.
and there's something crazy about it too; it is the effect it has, not just on you, but others around you included.
positive energy is really contagious.
the sad reality about not being positive is, it gradually starts to show in your actions. if you keep saying "I'm going to fail this exam" slowly, you start acting like someone who actually wants to fail.
and even if, you try to work hard to make things go positive, it'd be harder than having a positive mind-set. it is more like, going against your beliefs.
if you perform bad in a paper and you say "omgg, i did woefully in it, i'm going to repeat the course" your mind starts to believe it, you stop hoping for any positive outcome and your efforts (i.e prayers) in this context start to reduce and all your actions will follow the footsteps of a person prepared to fail.
you neglect prayers due to pessimism.
being optimistic is hard, very hard, but there are advantages.
and one very important part is the absence of pre-panic attacks. even if the results aligns with reality, at least you won't suffer twice — pre-panic attacks and the actual panic attacks.
personally, when i have negative thoughts, i end up having severe shivers and crazy attacks. and to prevent it from getting any worse, i avoid anything that'd give me more negative feelings.
i remember when these mb exams kids were about to start their papers and they were so hopeful. i don't know what was going on in their minds, but what they were uttering is what I'm concerned about.
because, what you say — what comes from your tongue, goes to your mind, then your actions portrays.
during the process of their preparations, they were all very optimistic that excellence was theirs. and truly when the results came out, excellence was truly theirs.
and this is to say, the tongue guides the minds and the mind guides the actions.
what you say is what you believe and what you believe is what you do.
so try to stay positive.
no matter how fake it seems. no matter how performative it feels. say positive words. believe in them and gradually they start to reflect in your actions.
I'm still struggling with my writer's block, so this is all I've got for you and myself.
positive words always.
I'm going to win.
I'm going to excel.
I'm going to make it.
I'm going to stand out.
I can.
and I will.
optimism isn’t about denying reality. It’s about choosing which version of reality you feed. (chatgpt).
